Oregon Tribes Grant Program
In March 2008, the Spirit Mountain Community Fund (SMCF) was pleased to announce our new Oregon Tribes Grant Program. This new grant opportunity was a key component of recent Compact negotiations between the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the State of Oregon.

SMCF’s new Oregon Tribes Grant Program is a competitive process intended to help the nine federally recognized Tribes in Oregon by providing grant funds to support priorities within their Tribal communities. The nine federally recognized Tribes in Oregon are:
Each Tribe will have an annual opportunity to apply for a grant not to exceed $75,000 or 50% of the project budget. Fundable projects are those that have been designated by the Tribe, as “high priority” needs. SMCF’s project evaluation criterion is comprehensive and flexible. Suitable projects are those that fit within one or more of the following general categories:
Arts & Culture - Education - Health - Historic Preservation - Public Safety - Environmental Preservation - Problem Gaming
